Nels Eastgard currently serves as the district vice president representing Clark County Local 1908. With nearly two decades of service and dedication to the Clark County Fire Department, Nels brings a track record of involvement and activation to further the wellness and education of Local members throughout the state.
Within his capacity of district vice president, Nels has set his mission to increase healthcare education to member Locals and further enhance the legal education of Locals. His duties to as the district vice president include: acting as the primary advocate for Local 1908 to the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada, serving as special committee member, and involvement in the political action committee.
Nels began his career with Clark County Fire Department and is currently a Captain/Paramedic with the department. He has been a member of the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada for nearly 10 years. Additionally, Nels is the current Sargent at Arms, oversees all issues related to the Office of Diversity and serves on all Local 1908 negotiation teams.
In addition to his leadership within the PFFN and Local 1908, Nels earned his master’s degree in Executive Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
Nels enjoys spending time with his wife Seana and daughters Sloane and Stella. He is also an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks and University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish and likes to take advantage of the many outdoor adventures found throughout Nevada.
