Cory M. Whitlock, southern district vice president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada, currently serves as a fire captain on Truck 1 in Downtown Las Vegas for Las Vegas Fire and Rescue. Aside from serving on the PFFN board, Cory also serves as secretary for Las Vegas Firefighters Local 1285 and is the vice president of the Vegas Fire and Rescue Charity’s Foundation.

As vice president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada, Cory is responsible for assisting the presidents of affiliate Locals in southern Nevada and ensuring those Locals comply with their governing rules.

Before working for Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, Cory worked as a firefighter/paramedic for Storey County Fire Protection District. Cory also served as a community college professor at Truckee Meadows Community College. During this time, he specialized in emergency medical services, managed online classes, and led the paramedic programs.

Cory studied at the Truckee Meadows Community College and earned his associate degree in Fire Science Technology in Reno, Nevada. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Health Science from the University of Washington. After earning both degrees, Cory continued his education and received his Physician Assistant accreditation from the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Cory’s priority is to be a public servant and firefighter for the Las Vegas community. With the assistance and support of the members of the Las Vegas Fire Department, he seeks to promote community safety by protecting life, preventing loss, and providing support and relief to those in need.

Cory currently resides in Henderson, Nevada with his beautiful wife, Savannah. When he is not working, Cory enjoys outdoor sports such as biking, hiking, wakeboarding, camping, and skiing.
